Introduction

Today you will demonstrate that materials can be combined to make or fix an object, and you will justify your choice using physical properties. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. Sand, clay, water, and wood are all matter. A physical property is something you can see, feel, or measure about matter. Hard, soft, sticky, heavy, and dry are physical properties. Builders pick materials because of these properties.
