Three Movements, One Goal
In twentieth-century Texas, African Americans, Mexican Americans, and women all fought for civil rights: fair treatment, equal schools, and the vote. Each group ran its own race toward that shared trophy, using different leaders, strategies, and legal arguments to win equality under the law.
