Intro

Ecosystems Keep Going

An ecosystem is all the living things in an area plus the nonliving things they depend on, like water, soil, and air. Ecosystems last year after year for two reasons: energy keeps flowing in, and matter keeps getting recycled. This lesson explains both ideas using a Texas backyard pecan tree as an example.
